I built this post apocalyptic treehouse for the TreeTopTopia challenge on the MagnaRisa server. The lore behind it is as follows: Global Warming caused the crust to shatter and the world to be consumed in molten rock, not rising sea levels. As such, humans moved into trees which had now been petrified by the climate change. To keep away from the hot core, houses now exist on the highest planes - giant trees. Humans use archery to hunt for scarce food and resources and they keep what little water they have for farms.

I "petrified" the tree by replacing it with polished Basalt and built the main structures out of blackstone. I used chains and chiseled blackstone for the railing and placed cobwebs everywhere to give it that post apocalyptic feel - spooky scary. There is even a hung man (skeleton head on leather armor on armor stand hanging from chains) as a warning for trespassers.
