If I'm gonna be blatantly honest, the netherrack was unnecessary. I don't know what you could put instead, but black and red clashes with the overall colour of the piece. You might try normal brick and/or iron OR diamond.

i thought that the end needed a different colour. and the nether brick looked like it could add some more colour to the end, without ruining it.

If you ask me, the point of the End is that it's colourLESS.
