Welcome to the Hungry Games! This is a PvP FFA map based on the recent film "The Hunger Games". The arena is designed for up to 16 players + the host(s). (Smaller groups could limit the games to the snow biome). The map presents a number of challenges and features an extensive network of chests containing a variety of items, including weapons, armour, food, and a variety of alternative items. It spans each kind of minecraft biome, with a fairly even spread of each (minimal swamp). It is approximately 900x900 blocks square and is completely enclosed by a glass barrier. It is a large size, but gives the tributes the chance to be killed by something other than enemy players. The spawn point is below ground level so that players won't have the advantage of looking around the map before they begin. An extensive red-stone powered Cornucopia (starting area) means that the game can be successfully launched with the flick of a lever the instant players have reached their starting tubes. The map contains plenty of torches designed to keep those nasty monsters away when night falls, but be warned, torches can attract more than just monsters in the arena... Furnaces with coal are also spread around the map for the player that may be running low on food, simply kill some mobs and cook them up, (cannibalism is not allowed). One of the great features of this map is the variety of ways you can die, (environment, enemy player, mob). Potions, enchanting, bones for wolves, lava buckets and much, much more have all been included for you killing or surviving pleasure. The map has been tested quite extensively so it should work fine. Basically the main idea is to have fun!

The starting area explained in detail:
The spawning area is situated below ground level so that players cannot see the map. It has an open top so that the host(s) can fly out. A tunnel leads the other players to an underground area below the Cornucopia. There is food to ensure all players' hunger bars are full before they start, but they must not carry any items with them to the surface. When the host is ready, players will take their positions within different tubes. The host will then flick a lever in a small building to one side of the starting area and the players will be lifted to the surface. After they reach the surface, items will be dropped from the Cornucopia above to the ground. At the surface they will have approximately thirty seconds to decide where to run before all the lava is simultaneously extinguished. Let the Hungry Games begin!

Recommended Rules:
You cannot break blocks, excluding leaves and vines (unless you are stuck).
All mobs on.
Lever found in the starting area unlocks special items (when placed on golden block).
All the players must start the game with zero (0) items.
Only one player can be crowned the victor!
