My parents got me a rather nifty present for my birthday which was a full spa treatment course at a naturally hot source centre. Fancy right? One of the things that was included, was a 30mn jacuzzi session. As I laid there enjoying life, an idea sprung into my complex and rather confused mind. Obviously, it was related to Minecraft.

Could I build a Jacuzzi in Minecraft?

The actual building of the smoke mechanism was a tad challenging at first. I toyed with the idea of having squids to create bubbles beneath or villagers drowning beneath to create the smoke effect when they die. Both failed.

I tried having a pulse being sent from the button that would spawn villagers and then lava would emerge from dispensers and be sucked back in again so that the villagers would die and the "bubble sound" of the lava would add to the effect but again, that failed. I did however keep the lava beneath for the sound.

I needed the smoke to emerge out of the blocks beneath the water and I didn't want Iron Bars/Glass Panes for the flooring.

It finally dawned on me that villagers don't make any noises, therefore I could suffocate them and there would be no evidence of them (aside from occasional glitching shadowed figures as well as dispenser noises). All I ended up doing was making them spawn in a 1-block high space right beneath the actual water floor blocks.

The redstone is fairly simple for the single bubbles pulse. The redstone signal travels underneath the block with the button and circles around the multiple dispensers that surround the one block tight space. No biggy.

The continuous pulsing bubbles consists of the redstone signal traveling along a repeater clock (made up of a circle of redstone with 4 repeaters on max) that then goes around the same circuit. At the same time, the signal travels around the clock and keeps going round and round. The delay is too big so that the signal overlaps and creates a constantly active circuit.

As some of you know (Block Fortress, dingo, etc...) my building and designing skills are beyond atrocious and frankly probably deserve to be massacred to pieces by an angry barbarian (Ragnur, get your mace). I did try on this however.

I went for a roman bath'y feel. A very clean and high quality structured wall surrounds the central bath and the button stands are elaborate and detailed keeping the whole 'rich roman' feel. Finally the pool has golden blocks for the corners and glowstone to illuminate the surrounds in a cross formation.

I also added a staircase (to heaven) to the basement where the redstone is housed (in a rather messy way) that I styled to the same rich feel of sandstone stairs and slabs.

Additional Notes

There is a refill chest downstairs to refill the dispensers. Screenshots made with Chunky.
