150
A roughly to-scale recreation of the Low Lantern Inn from Baldur's Gate, an infamous, seedy dockside establishment.
Making Of
Probably the most difficult build since I started this project, including the Duchal Palace and the Bridge. What it lacks in scale it more than makes up for in complexity of structure, and it was a hard reminder why I don't do many ships in Minecraft, and why constructing them is such an achievement.
I looked up a diagram of a medieval galleon first, and also looked at MamiyaOtaru's Galleon for ideas, as well as a look back at my own SS Amelyssan's Revenge.
The stages of its construction actually sort of mirrored shipbuilding in real life - I built a hull from scratch on land, then used MCEdit to slide it into the water. Next, I spent a long time finishing and tweaking the exterior, shortening the hull a few blocks, and sinking it deeper into the water.
When I was satisfied with the exterior, I started in on the interior. I realized quickly that a 2-block clearance simply wouldn't be enough, but instead of making it even more ridiculously deep, I decided to think outside the box, and make the floor of each deck out of half-blocks, giving back a crucial half-block of space on each level. The experiment turned out quite well, I feel.
For best results, load with 1.2.4/1.2.5 Minecraft. Schematic makes use of half-blocks attached to undersides.
Redistributing it as is, without credit, is a no-no, but if anyone wanting to make a Baldur's Gate themed adventure map would be interested in using it, contact me. I would gladly like to aid such a worthy cause.
The texture pack is naturally my own Baldur's Craft texture pack, in [32x] and [16x].
