This was the main training school for gladiators that fought in the Colosseum. It was the largest of the Gladiatorial schools in Rome. The smaller of the two buildings was the Ludas Matutinus.

Looks great. Like all your Roman builds, the architecture itself is VERY good. I just wished you used a different texture pack, like the Romecraft texture pack, and that they colors weren't so drab and muted. Also, there isn't a lot of little details color-wise (Not talking about architecture-wise, b/c you've DEF got that down), the Romans were pretty colorful people.

Either way, Diamonded and Subbed. If you ever find the time you should check out the City of Augusta on StugAce's server, he has also done alot of these buildings. I think you two are the best Roman builders around.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks a lot man for the praise! And i uderstand where your coming from with the color stuff. The basic concept for my stuff was just building the best i could without using any mods (such as eight blocks, better blocks, MCedit, etc.) which I know some people use for building detail. Also as far as color goes, i really wanted things to look more elegent than colorful, like with the marble textured blocks, and I thought the sandstone gave everything a very realistic look, which is what Im going for. Ive seen other people who have used really vibrant colored blocks for their builds, and i think its just to cartoonish, and even though the Romans did incorporate very colorful things like frescos and such into their architecture, i tried to keep the color to a minimum lol, but i do really, really appreaciate the comments! im glad people are actually looking at my builds haha. Im actually working on the Basilica Aemilia and Basilica Julia now, so those will be on here eventually.

I agree with you regarding building with no mods. Part of the fun is trying to make it look realistic and juuuuust right with what you are given. As far as the colorfulness goes, I agree your method does look very elegant, but I suppose I'll have to disagree with the cartoonishness (word? haha) of vibrant colors. I feel like many people think Roman builds weren't very colorful due to the lack of color remaining on many of the ruins, and they build their verisions of the buildings this way, with the resulting look of aged, abandoned structures. Even the Colosseum was believed to be a very colorful building, inside and out. Anyways, I enjoy your buildings very much.

I'm getting into uploading a few things myself, mainly Roman military skins and smaller Roman architecture, but I'd be appreciated if you would give them a look :)

I look forward to the completion of your project :)
