The Sanctum (DISCONTINUED)

The Sanctum is a renewal of an old project that was discontinued on m33crob's Minecraft server.

Originally planned as a large sprawling necropolis, The Sanctum is mostly a tribute to the admins and players of m33crob's server.

The project began in mid June, starting with clearing a few hills and mountains from the area we selected. Thousands of blocks were removed from the help of friends, admins, and m33crob himself (later using MCedit to remove remaining chunks). Overall, a space spanning 100 blocks radius in a circular formation was cleared out at a level of 70. Every point is mapped out via coordinates, using four pylons to map each corner. The first pylon is located at -1000 / -1000, the main center pylon where the spiral tower stands is at -1000 / -1100, and the back pylon is located at -1000 / -1200. Torches are placed at 10 block spaced intervals resulting in a grid-like lattice pattern. The spiral in the center was built using an 8 block radius design, and took approx. 3 hours to construct (flight mod disabled).
