I used Worldmachine WorldPainter to make this map...

The trees and bushes you see here are from my own personal tree pack!

I use the Conquest Texture Pack + Optifine in minecraft 1.7.10 for a lot of unique textures. Get them all in one here:

I was inspired to make this map after taking an interest for quite a while in the Netflix Original Series: Marco Polo. The ancient Mongolian culture fascinates me so I figured I'd put on some throat singing music and whip out a map! I decided to re-create my favorite aspect of Mongolia - it's sweeping plains and wide distant mountain ranges, where packs of horses run free. To celebrate the arriving winter season, this map showcases early hints of winter as well. With all the sweeping plains, this map is perfect for building cities!! This is mainly what I listened to as I created this map.. (I think it gets really good at 23 minutes in):

This map is a little over 4K x 4K in size. You may use it for whatever you like as long as you give me credit somewhere and let me know what you use it for just because I'm curious!

How did you get the snow in such neat places? Was it set to a certain slope? or just random?
Probably using a lightmap or something alike in WorldMachine, export that as a custom brush and use it with a slope in WorldPainter.

Very nice! Thats what i love about terrain is sometimes its better to keep things very plain and simple. Like the map itself makes one feel very isolated and the way you made it makes the map feel extremely vast. Great job

That's what I was going for, thank you! This part of Mongolia is very vast and empty anyway. Makes the mountains stand out.
Wow this map looks awesome gonna try it out now and then again when I get an upgrade for my PC so I can try it with max render distance and also the ultra shaders =D
