Story:


Tens of thousands of years before the Gorbans invaded Richmundia, there was Trish. Alone she survived on the nourishment of cherries and crushed ice. For generations, Trisho s hardworking descendants learnt the arcane secrets of mixing Richmundia cherries with ice shards. It was this magical amalgamation of fruit and ice that sustained the peasant masses during the Gorban oppression.


The first wave of invading Gorbans ravished the land and for almost a century cherry trees were barren. Then one marvelous day, a Ranger of Trishan stock, high aloft on the back of his noble hippogriff, beheld the blood red fruit, nestled in the heights of Fermengtin Pass. For days and weeks he toiled through the snow until he possessed the fruit. Wind-burnt, snow-blind, and frost-bitten, he made for himself a home in the untenable snows and there taught himself the arcane magic of fruit and ice fusion. Twice he nearly perished and twice was sustained by the sacrifice of his hippogriff, who let him eat his limbs one at a time. When only his wings were left, he begged to die for the greater cause of the Trishan Cherry and formally immortalized in the Epic Sandwich.


Finally, the day came when the Ranger of Trishan stock returned to the peasant masses. At first the people, despairing and made cynical by their crushed spirits, rejected this noble stranger. And but for one, he might have died along with the cherry magic forever. The Halfie Padrick, however, had seen many strange things, and had heard tell of the fruit-ice fusion of yore. Together the two convinced the peasant masses to rise up against their oppressors and slay the Gorbans.


Strengthened by the potent frosty (popularized in small non-perishable cups), the masses drove their oppressors back into the northern wastelands and spiced their frosted wine with the blood of their former rulers.


Raised in honor of the noble Ranger and his partner in triumph, the Halfie Padrick, this commemoration will stand forever as a reminder of the power of sacrifice, friendship, hope, and cherries.
