Turckheim est située dans la vallée de la Fecht, en aval de Munster, et non loin de la ville de Colmar, chef-lieu du Haut-Rhin. Le village fait partie administrativement du canton de Wintzenheim et de l'arrondissement de Colmar-Ribeauvillé.

La commune est située sur la route des vins d'Alsace. Elle est également l'une des quinze étapes de la Route verte.

Les fortifications de la vieille ville de Turckheim ont été construites sous une forme triangulaire. Les remparts sont percés de trois portes qui permettaient l'entrée dans la ville par des ponts-levis qui enjambaient le fossé dont il reste quelques vestiges. La porte de France est l'entrée principale de la ville et est orientée plein sud. La porte du Brand à l'est tient son nom de la colline qui la surplombe et la porte de Munster est, elle, orientée vers l'ouest en direction de la vallée de Munster.

Turckheim is located in the Fecht valley, downstream from Munster, and not far from the town of Colmar, capital of Haut-Rhin. The village is administratively part of the canton of Wintzenheim and the district of Colmar-Ribeauvillé.The town is located on the Alsace wine route. It is also one of the fifteen stages of the Route verte.The fortifications of the old town of Turckheim were built in a triangular shape. The ramparts are pierced with three gates which allowed entry into the city by drawbridges which spanned the ditch of which some vestiges remain. The Porte de France is the main entrance to the city and faces south. The Porte du Brand in the east takes its name from the hill above it and the Porte de Munster is oriented towards the west towards the valley of Munster.
