Under Attack!

Here's a brief story:

The townspeople were a peace loving people, enjoying the simple things of life, always happy to be secure and away from the general population of the rest of the world. Being isolationists they were perfectly content to stay away from all the 'dangers' of so-called modern society, with all it's distractions, like modern technology and such.

Then the worst possible thing happened. They started to hear noises in the far distance they had never heard before. So they sent someone onto one of the watchtowers to see where the noise was coming from. The guard called down to the peace loving people below that life as they knew it was about change for the worst. The worst of their fears was coming true. Someone from the outside world had not only found them, but also had built a huge scorpion out of pure gold, with weapons that inspired fear into anyone, especially if you lived away from everyone else, and were part of a peaceful people.

The townfolk couldn't believe their ears at what the guard was telling them. They had heard stories of a very powerful group of people who were the total opposite to what they were: horrible, vengeful, hating everyone else, and not to mention the level of violence they would wreak out on anyone they didn't like the look of, or even if the 'enemy' lived in a way these people didn't like in any shape or form.

They could see what this mega creation could do to the land, because it had destroyed mountains already, on it's way to get to its eventual target. It was fearsome to behold, made of pure gold, with weapons on both of it's arms, and even one on its tail!!! What were they to do, considering they loved nothing but peace, and had never even entertained the idea that weapons of any description would ever be needed. They knew something bad was about to happen...
