The USS Davidson was built as a Garcia-class destroyer escort, then later redesignated as a frigate. She was commissioned on December 1st, 1965. Her homeport was Pearl Harbor, she saw action during the Vietnam War. On December 8th, 1988 she was decommissioned and transferred to the Brazilian Navy. She served in the Brazilian Navy as the Paraiba (D28) until 2002. In 2005 while being towed to get scrapped the line broke and she sank.
