Destroyer Laffey was one of the Sumner-class destroyers that saw service during WWII. She primarily served as a radar picket, staying on the outskirts of the main fleet in order to provide early warning of enemy aircraft. She fought fiercely during the war, taking no less than 6 hits from kamikaze planes and still surviving the war.

Absolutely beautiful. The resource pack truly adds so much to these builds, and I think that the NBZ:HC server is the place to be for anyone interested in naval architecture, especially from the World Wars. An interesting tidbit about the Laffey is that her last confirmed kill was in September of 1945, when she collided and sank with the USS PC-815, a sub chaser that was originally commanded by notable eccentric and founder of Scientology, L Ron Hubbard.
