So, I think you should keep the last picture the way it is. Usually there are grand hallways filled with nothing in palaces (i gather this information from movie, it's not very reliable info).
Also, add 2nd and 3rd floor. Maybe add a dungeon in a basement or attic or something. Kitchens are also very nice to make it more realistic. Lots of bedrooms if it's a royal palace. Offices and conference rooms. Dining hall maybe. Secretary desk. Er, I think that's it on my end of the spectrum.
