Hello there!
Prologue
I was playing on a survival sea island server and decided to make my island a ship yard, which clearly needs something MASSIVE and intimidating to show off my production and architectural capabilities. After some web surfing I discovered that among all the Minecraft Star Wars capital ships, there just isn't any satisfying attempts on the Victory Class Destroyer. Target set.
I've built Gumli's Venator (Venator-Class Destroyer Minecraft Map (planetminecraft.com)) in survival with litematica before and the experience is beneficial, I learned a lot about building large scale structures and carving details out of blocks, and it got me obsessed with the Star Wars sci-fi aesthetic. A huge thanks to Gumli for inspiring me into the shipbuilding industry lol.
For 4K images of the build, check out my Patreon: Antzwei | Creating Minecraft builds and 4K renders | Patreon
All images and map downloads are free, you don't need to become my patreon to unlock these 4K images.
The Process
Victory Class isn't very popular in the Star Wars universe, so unpopular that I can't even find any official visual materials clear and consistent enough for me to build it from scrach. So I set about searching for good fan arts and here it is Victory-class Star Destroyer 4k – Fractalsponge.net
Fractalsponge makes exceptional 3D arts about Star Wars, make sure to check out his page.
So my entire build is based on Fractalsponge's renders, which means basically this is a fan art based on another fan art.
With that in mind I set my main goal of this building attempt: Make the ship more good-looking rather than more accurate.
So I set about building completely in Minecraft with worldedit and litematica and the orthographic renders by Fractalsponge. Here's a WIP render I made 2 months ago:
The planes shown in this render are the easiest part in the entire build, all the subtle details on the planes, however, are PAINFUL to build in Minecraft. To craft non-axial details on these non-axial surfaces using axial blocks is absolute torture, and I spend 2 months carving these details with bare hands and a wooden axe.
The Imperial aesthetic is basically GRAY (+Republican red), and since I want to build this thing in a survival server, I didn't use that much of different blocks. Stone-made blocks accounts for 78.16% of the entire build, other gray blocks including smooth_stone, cyan_terracotta and light_gray_concrete accounts for 12.78%. So I guess I can say this build is SURVIVAL FRIENDLY.
The most distinguishable element of the Victory Class is the atmospheric maneuvering surfaces covering the heavy concussion missiles launch bay, it is so cool that I have to make it swapable, you can swap between defensive and aggressive mode using worldedit, just make sure to align the yellow concrete anchor points.
It takes me 138.48 hours in 3 months to complete the crust, as well as some interior components which includes 3 main engines and the deflector-shield generator domes, I made them purely out of my imagination since I can't find any useful materials about the interior of the Victory Class. So up to now the build is basically a shiny crust with no interior at all, and since I still have school to attend to, NO interior is or will be planned, at least for now. You can add interiors and details on my map, but to repost it you must make significant changes to the map and credit me.
Info
Dimensions xyz: 898*309*740
Blocks: 2,330,605
Built in Minecraft 1.20.1 (the newest block should be copper blocks and Amethyst Bud)
The schematic pack includes Imperial and Republican livery separately without swapable components, if you want to swap the atmospheric maneuvering surfaces to your need please download the full map via the mediafire link.
You can use my builds publicly with proper credit to my PMC page. As always, you shouldn't use it for commercial purposes like server promotion, and you shouldn't repost the map with no or minor modifications.
If you want to paste the schem file to your world, better use "//paste -a" to ignore air blocks thus saving time and computing power.
Enjoy!
