Hi everyone,
I'm back with one of my favourite ever destroyer builds in Minecraft, the Visby-class destroyer of Sweden! Note that this is not to be confused with the modern stealthy Visby-class corvettes that Google will show you endless pictures of should you try and research the WW2 destroyer instead.
Once again, I've used the World of Warships model to help design her, although I've made some changes, most notably in restoring her original gun armament (to that featured on the upcoming Kalmar Tier V premium) as at no point did these ships carry any more than 3 120mm guns.
I love the way the superstructure looks, very modern, although it was a tricky build to make it work in Minecraft. I think it's come out very nicely and I hope you guys like it :)
Specifications:
Length = 98 Blocks (Not including extremities)
Beam = 9 Blocks (Ditto)
Draught = 4 Blocks
Primary Armament:
3 x 120mm/50 Bofors Model 1924C Guns [3 x 1]
Anti-Aircraft Armament:
4 x 40mm/60 Bofors Model 1936 Guns [1 x 2, 2 x 1]
8 x 20mm/60 Madsen Model 1938 Guns [8 x 1] (Note that I couldn't find sources to confirm eight guns, but I also couldn't deny it either. Other sources say only four guns were present. It's a small enough detail that I gave Wargaming the benefit of the doubt on this one, it's not as important as the main armament)
Torpedo Armament:
6 x 533mm Torpedoes [2 x 3] (again, I don't know Swedish torpedoes, if anyone does, please give me some info on them)
There you go! I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do, I will be back next time with something a bit different. I'm also changing PCs soon so expect a delay before the next upload.
