The volvo BM is a simple swedish tractor i built beacuse i was a bit bored
The Bolinder-Munktell 350 Boxer was a two-wheel-drive tractor that was manufactured between 1959 and by 1967 28,039 units were produced by AB Bolinder-Munktell. It became the most-produced tractor in BM’s history. Originally it was sold both as the Bolinder-Munktell BM Boxer and the Volvo T 350, but in the early 1960s a joint brand was introduced and the name became BM-Volvo T 350 Boxer.
The Boxer had a very fuel-efficient three-cylinder diesel engine of about 55 horsepower. It was essentially identical to the BM 35/36’s engine, but more modern. It became a highly appreciated work tool that met the needs of both agriculture and forestry in Sweden.
The transmission was a gearbox with five forward gears and one reverse, which combined with a high/low range gave a total of ten forward gears and two reverse. The Boxer also had a differential lock. In its first two production years it was equipped with the Cresco hydraulic system,[1] which was not very good. It was later replaced with the then-modern hydraulic system Terra Trol (roughly “soil control”), for regulating the three-point hitch. The Boxer also had combined independent / ground-driven power take-off, which made it well suited to pull, for example, a three-furrow plow or a trailed combine harvester. The tractor could also be fitted with a hitch hook. All these features together made the tractor very modern for its time.
The model number 350 comes from the number of cylinders (3) combined with the approximate peak output (50). The only other BM models where this naming system applies are the Bolinder-Munktell BM 425 Terrier, Bolinder-Munktell 230 Victor, and BM-Volvo T 470 Bison.
