Wardenclyffe Laboratory
Hey everyone, here's as small historical project I finished recently,
This build is of Nikola Tesla's most famous and only surviving laboratory at Wardenclyffe on Long Island. The build features both the brick laboratory building as well as the well known Wardenclyffe Tower that Tesla had planned to use to create a world wireless system, sending electricity through the air. Wardenclyffe was constructed in 1901 and served as Nikola Tesla's primary laboratory. Tesla himself was a Serbian immigrant to the United States, and a genius inventor. Tesla was an early pioneer in many areas, inventing not only radio, a wireless controlled boat, early X-Ray imaging, and most famously the Tesla Coil. Tesla however was never taken seriously as his competitor and rival Thomas Edison destroyed his reputation, Tesla died penniless on 1943. Wardenclyffe Tower on the other hand was torn down during the First World War as the U.S. Government claimed that the tower could've been used as a way for German spies to transmit information.
After changing hands multiple times for decades, the old abandoned laboratory was saved by the Tesla Science Center. The brick laboratory building just opened last summer (Summer 2019) to tours. The organization plans to continue restoration of the building, as it has deteriorated significantly over the decades, as well as open a separate building to serve as a Science Museum and Educational Center. Tesla's Wardenclyffe was also a central point in the Doctor Who episode "Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror".
The build also features a power switch inside Wardenclyffe that activates the tower using a summon command.
Update: Images replaced with more in depth images with shaders of the exterior and interior, Powered Up mode images lack shaders still because the lightning does not work well with the mod.
NOTE: I do not claim ownership of any images used in this page except for the ones of the build itself, these images were included for educational purposes
Please comment if you have any suggestions or words to say about Wardenclyffe, or even if you're just a fan of Nikola Tesla and want to talk about the genius inventor. Enjoy!
