Hi! I'm Azuri (aka Komi) and I'm the chief Minecraft builder for TheSeed Games, a Spanish gaming and server hosting community. I've come to share the project we've been working during a couple months now, a 1:1 scale recreation of the islands of one of our favourite games, Wii Sports Resort!

WORK PROGRESS

While this project has required a bunch of terraforming (river and lake beds, general landscape cleaning, etc.), we've made good use of our programming skills to actually ease up the work.

Initial 3D model obtained from the game files

Starting from a plain 3D model, which we voxelized into a schematic file using a little application we developed for the project (inspired by Patrick Min's Binvox, but paralellized and optimized in order to make it scalable for larger schematics). We thus obtained a first model we imported into our server to start working on the project.

Have a discord at all? (Mine is Manrock1#9507) On a server I run in a month or two after I finish a current big project would be fun to take this on in survival! And add more smaller details to it to make it look nicer on a close up scale :D Just searched to see if people have done this and they have so awesome!

We're on it!
It will likely will be the last thing we do in terms of terraforming and painting, but it will be done before starting with landscape detailing.

We likely will not attach an upload until we have made good use of it in a dedicated server, expect months or years even. Building is live-watchable in wuhu.theseed.games , and we will prepare all the original game's minigames (at least the ones which won't require extra mods) to be played on the map!

We plan on including most of the minigames using redstone/plugins/mods, we have Iri working on that already. Sword fight should be the first to be implemented!

Hi!. We - well, not precisely me, but Ruy - built a program inspired on Binvox (only using exact voxelization since we weren't interested in carving and such). We only did this to avoid having to use mcedit etc etc by going over Binvox's 1024 block limit (used 4096 for this project iirc.) We own a quite powerful machine so we could do that without much problem, so complete voxelization took about 10 minutes although we haven't made anything public since the code is a fucking mess, but I thank you for being interested in it!

I totally forgot that (although he's the actual owner of TheSeedGames). Now added to the team!

That sounds super useful, I've been trying to binvox a model but the carving process is always super annoying will have to keep an eye out to see if there is ever a public release.
