Sorry for not updating this page for a while, I’ve been pretty busy and also a bit sick in that time but I really wanna continue working on this map so stay tuned for updates!

I am working with Worldpainter and a few Minecraft forge mods (1.15.2):
[Conquest Reforged, Optifine, Worldedit, JEI, Journeymap]
The map dimensions are 5k by 10k blocks.
(I also have a Vanilla Version of the map in my mind)

The main task of my project is to grab a heightmap from the Internet and to edit it to a Nordic/Medieval/Fantasy landscape. I picked a heightmap of Sicilia and I am done by now terraforming, maybe there will be a couple more small islands out in the ocean around the main isles but for now my main focus is finishing the mapmaking process in Worldpainter.

Work in Progress:

-Plains/savanna vegetation

-forest Vegetation

-Jungle vegetation

-Mountain vegetation

Coming soon:

-Some caves (if caves at all, then big and shiny)

-floating islands(probably at some point because it looks cool)

I hope I will find the time to build my own schematics for this project and uploading them as well so I don’t have to copy every single custom object for another Worldpainter layer off of someone’s harddrive, I wanna also contribute my own builds besides my Worldpainter projects.

Tree packs used:
Custom Tree Repository by lentebriesje
Conquered_ by Monsterfish
Massivecraft junglepack
Custom tree pack Vol.1 - Boreal Forest by Murokmakto

I really hope this project gets to the point where I will seriously start building structures on the map with conquest reforged blocks because I love how much detail you can spend in the most obsolete things with this mod, especially the 1.15.2 Version.

the Credit goes to Tangram Heightmapper, a free to use Web-based tool, that lets download heightmaps from all around the real world, giving map makers the great opportunity to edit natural terrain instead of hours of artificial landscaping.

that’s the brush I’m mainly using for low-scale terraforming (less for bigger mountains, more for details). Found it online years ago, randomly. Feel free to use it. Although it has one point on the map where it will draw a hard edge for a few blocks if you are using a big brush size and want to paint a mountain. You can avoid that behavior by shaking/moving your mouse a little while painting (Do that with every brush for more natural look). If you wanna really get into Worldpainter terraforming you should start using ALT+Mousewheel while painting to rotate the brush, results can look awesome.
