Conqueror-class Background:
The liberation of the pirate and former shipwright Robert Bellamy from the grasp of the Silver Empire brought the Royal Navy unfathomable amounts of knowledge on advanced turret designs. Though they had already planned to field new ‘Mk3’ warships with advanced armor and a Goliath-style layout of turrets on the deck, Bellamy’s discoveries allowed for incredible cannon technology to become available faster to gain superiority over the Silver Empire, which was only beginning to tap into them. A great many designs for new warships were drafted, of which four are significant; the Corvette Mk3, the Destroyer Mk3, the Heavy Cruiser Mk1, and the Battlecruiser Mk1.

The Battlecruiser, known as the ‘Renown-class’, was the first to begin construction, as they were the largest and thus would take a longer time to be completed. Then followed the Valiant-class Destroyer Mk3s and the Rebirth-class Corvette Mk3s. The Conqueror-class Heavy Cruiser Mk I was intended to be a warship to bridge the gap in terms of both bulk and firepower between the Battlecruisers and the Destroyer Mk IIIs that were scheduled for production. The requirements for said ship were similar to that of the Destroyer Mk III in that it should be able to perform all the same tasks such as bombing, ground assault, aircraft carrying, and ship-to-ship combat roles except it must have a higher degree of protection, longer cruising range, and heavier armament. These ships were intended to destroy Silver Empire light cruisers in numbers with relative ease whilst remaining rather cheap to build for the Royal Navy.

Issues with a favored preliminary design armed with four twin turrets meant that the heavy cruisers were the last ships to enter construction in the royal navy’s new shipbuilding program. The loss of South Haven and the expansion of the Silver Empire’s cruiser force, and its now complete dedication to the annihilation of the Royal Navy meant that heavy cruisers were needed more than ever, saving the project from cancellation. A design armed with three triple turrets was proposed and favored by the admiralty, which recognized that triple turrets would only marginally weigh more than twins, thus solving the issues with size and displacement of the design with twin turrets. The design was likewise rather unique, the first ever royal navy ship armed with superfiring turrets at the bow and heavy armor allowing it to tank and deal damage from various angles, a luxury afforded to few ships at the time.

The design was pushed for mass production, just in time for the first models to see action at the Battle of Emerald Bay, where they provided AA and fighter support against Capal Crassus’ carrier strikes and participated in the destruction of the Silver Empire’s ‘suicide charge’ with light cruisers towards the end of the battle. They were present in numbers in every significant theater of war, and continued production after war’s end. In 765 AED, the production of Conqueror-class Heavy Cruisers was stopped in favor of the Monarch-class Heavy Cruiser Mk2, a ship which improved upon the Conqueror-class in every way. Many Conqueror-class ships continued their service long after their successors entered service however; one such ship, HMA Aveline, fell into pirate hands in 763 AED and became quite famous as a result.

Nerd Stuff and Ship Weapons: All weapons (on the ship) are functional in vanilla Minecraft in 1.16.5. The Movecraft plugin is required for the ship, fighters and the turrets to move and for the torpedoes to work.
