As of December 2012 this project has been retired. I started a new custom map not long ago that will be home to my future creations. A new page will be started when it's ready.
Welcome to my project! Haven is a city and the heart in a world I am forming and shaping over time. The city is divided into two halves, the Daybreak and the Sanctum. What is now merely a city-realm will be a world. This project and world keeps evolving with each piece I add. All I can say for now is that I really hope you enjoy what I've created so far and that this is just the beginning.
Daybreak is home to tall trees, vast-green fields, cozy cottages, and towers that stretch in reach of the heavens. It is a realm bathed in the warmth of the sun offering hope and peace to those of us with wings... and those of with minds that float and fly all the same. Daybreak is also home to the following places:
- Haven's South land-gate castle: The first castle that was built. It was my first project ever and features a connected underground air-strip that I had intended to use with the planes mod. It was intended to have a 3rd tier much taller with a palace and such, however I was introduced to the sky limit.
- Haven's East land-gate castle: Just like the other land-gate castle... it acts as a land-side fortification for the city of Haven. When under attack, most enemy forces will never see the smooth-paved streets of Haven; for both land-gate castles have stood strong for many ages blocking passage to the City's inner defenses. While the South castle has an air-strip, the East castle's bottom-end hangs like a giant stalactite from the ceiling of Sanctum, acting as it's second gate.
- Haven's Bridge House: A two-way bridge house with twin 5-pulse pulsar chambers that powers over 30 arrow-dispensers that fire through safe, contained, and tastefully-concealed lava. The bridge house also sits above a hidden docks at the waterline.
- Haven's Harbor and West Shore Landing: Coming Soon.
Sanctum is man's door to the smothering and protective depths of the earth. A deep fortress with wide and ancient walls sits beneath the city, home and Sanctuary to people of Haven in it's darkest times. But hope and protection isn't the only thing that lies beneath this dusty shell. Deep chasms of razor-sharp rocks, churning pools of raging magma, and long forgotten empires buried and lost in the sands of time... extend far beyond the thick walls of Sanctum.
- The Crypt: TBA.
- The Lower City: TBA.
- The North-Kingdom Transit Line: TBA.
The Weeping Hills are a massive and expansive range of mountains that cap Haven's North-Western horizon. The mountains cradle the Faygarden below like a giant geode full of spectacular and mysterious life. This is my first attempt at a massive "zone"-size landscape. It's planned to one day host a series of caves, bridges, trails, and many hidden secrets.
- The Faygarden: A massive subterranean forest full of giant mushrooms and many secrets to come.
- Nature's Ward: Preview TBA.
Yetti Mountain: More to come, check the pic and update log! This section will be be slightly separate from the rest of the world, sort of a neutral zone. Stay tuned to see it progress.
An Idea: Haven started with the South land-gate castle's underground air-strip. When I finished the strip I needed a hangar, but it would be too big. The back of the hangar stuck out of the other side of the mountain. I built a small castle to cover it, and realized that is was just a fort... there needed to be homes and gates! So I built the castle the way you see it now, for the most part. After seeing I had made a castle, and no where near a true city, I set out to create Haven as it is now.
Additional Notes
UpdatesNo more updates scheduled. Look for my new project coming soon!
Mods

I use Single Player Commands for construction and MC Edit for large scale landscaping. Without these 2 mods none of this would be possible. A very big thanks to the creators! Click the links to visit the Minecraft.net forums threads for these mods above!Textures
I use Doku's Dokucraft Light textures with no modifications. I also use Painterly's replacement textures for the default paintings/place-ables. I started using Doku mainly because I want this to be RPG playable, and he does everything and keeps it all up to date, and it's HD 32 while still retaining a SNES/MC feel. To get Dokucraft textures go here. To get Painterly textures go here. Thanks for some great textures!

Update #53 : by YettiCrush 01/09/2013 7:58:09 pmJanuary 10, 2013 @ 12:58 am UTC
This is my last and final update to this project. I have a new project that is nearing a more complete stage now. I uploaded a pic of the new main city. So far the space within it's walls could fit the entire city of Haven with room to spare. New page coming soon!
