Join a world built from the ground up to be fun.



When Minecraft servers were first created, they were simple beasts. Running few modifications and often not online 24/7 they were built by people who loved Minecraft and loved playing Minecraft. Fast-forward to 2019 and today most of the largest servers are run by companies, with the primary intention of making money. While this is a reasonable ambition, and the funding and input from these servers has helped evolve the server community, they can often sacrifice the fun of players and community for extra income.

We don’t think that’s right.

Argolia is an attempt at making the world of servers more open, free and fun for everyone to play on. Most importantly Argolia is not monetized. Each school term, we run a real-life (for-profit) event series which helps sustain and keep the server competitive, however we ask nothing from our players. There is no in-game rank system for donors – instead everyone gets treated fairly and equally, and there are no ways to gamble or buy item packs using real money. Instead of spending time working on these parts of the server, we can work on what people actually enjoy – the game. Our staff team works with the community to help build a server environment that everyone can enjoy, and that focuses on rich and rewarding player experiences.

What funds the server? How can you afford to run this?


We're in a very fortunate position where we already own all of the hardware to run a server. Upkeep of the server costs only the power we use to keep the lights on, and as we're using custom hardware the power use is less than that of a lightbulb (about 16 watts).

As well as this, we often run local gaming events and some of the income from ticket sales goes towards other things such as new plugins, advertising, and other costs.

LARGE UPDATE TO SERVER
New features:
- Native 1.12 support (although past versions should still work
- Kingdoms Migrated --> Factions. All land data has been kept!

Factions is our new choice of backbone because it's much more popular, has far better testing (less bugs!!!) and more polished features. There are a bunch of new features including auto-claiming, no-invitation factions and more. Check it out!

RP will be converted to $$ on a case-by-case basis by @hackuou so if you want it done to yours first get in touch with him.

This server will absolutely blow you away. It's got a beautifully done landscape and all the plugins it has are surprisingly well executed, and it has a stable connectivity status. I'm from America and even though the server is across the world in New Zealand, I'm barely pinging 150ms and even then there's such little lag it's not dangerous to play from where I am.


This is definitely a top recommended server to play on regardless of how much experience you have in minecraft.
