Pixelmon/Tech Custom Modpack [1.12.2]
We started about 6 months ago with the DireWolf20 pack, and I quickly grew tired of all the outdated, unbalanced and buggy mods that pack contained, so I've been working tirelessly to create a Pixelmon/Tech modpack that's as balanced and multiplayer friendly as possible. (Bye Bye Void Ore miners and Draconic Evolution!)
You can think of this pack as basically DireWolf20 without the magic and unbalanced mods plus Pixelmon and even more tech mods. Mods like AE2, IC2, Integrated dynamics, Thermal Foundation....etc are all here to scratch that tech itch.
Yes, hostile mobs do spawn to make progression in these tech mods possible, but their spawning has been adjusted so that players will not be killed during Pokemon battles. (hostile mobs can only be found at Y35 and below in the overworld)
World generation is unique in this server, we have Recurrent Complex and Doomlike Dungeon generation, which makes exploration all the sweeter, but the really interesting aspect of our overworld generation is that all stone that isn't within 6 blocks of air blocks (cave systems) has been replace with bedrock. You read that right, no digging straight down to the bottom of the world and strip mining, players have no choice but to explore and traverse the cave systems and ravines in the world in order to accrue resources, and caves/ravines natural generation has been doubled in frequency as well, so there's no shortage of bountiful places to explore!
The server's modpack can be found on theTekkit Launcher. Simply install the launcher, search for"The BombShelter"and bingo, you're in. I know the Tekkit platform isn't the most popular, but every decision I make in regards to this server revolves around player quality of life, since the Twitch launcher won't accept packs that contain non CurseForge mods (Pixelmon) I chose the Tekkit launcher to bypass this limitation, allowing players to easily update when changes are made to our "official" pack; it's quite literally just a couple clicks to get playing.
When logging into The BombShelter, you'll not find fancy buildings or spawns that fill you with awe, I'm leaving that to the community, my entire focus is to create a fun, balanced and "slow burn" kind of gameplay experience for a mature and welcoming group of awesome people, and I hope you'll soon be one of them!
