Changes to Dexcraft are coming down the pipe which will range from the introduction of character classes, new ranks to regions and also towns. Before I begin talking about most of them I want to mention that spawn has now been expanded 500 blocks in all directions to force players to expand outward away from Spawn. So if you have any store or home within this region please contact an admin and we'll cut and paste your home to a new location. You have until April the 28th to do this, or you will lose your building, chests and items therein.
For one week between sunday april 22nd and sunday april 29th Admin shops will be laid out in the spawn mall for players to sell most anything to acquire money.
First things first, lets talk about the character classes of which there are 2
Brigands and Citizens. The Brigand class is for those hardcore pvper's who enjoy raiding, being bribed, or hired as mercenaries. Brigands automatically forfeit any right to purchasing or acquiring any region protected land, BUT will be allowed the use of the /dynmap hide command and are allowed to place or break blocks** in order to get to another player for the purpose of killing them. However, be on constant lookout as you will have a bounty on your head that only a citizen or a brigand hired by a citizen can collect.
The Citizen class is for the builders on the server, this class can purchase regions, set up chest shops, and hire brigands to kill other brigands to collect bounties. But you will always be visible on the dynmap and will constantly be susceptible to raids from brigands and must succumb to bribing the brigands for periods of peace.
** This also pertains to harvesting crops and killing animals during a raid.
REGIONS -
Regions are now only available to the character class Citizen via purchasing from a Mod or Admin. The price of regions will be .50 minecraft dollars per block. For example a region 20x20x20 is a total of 8000 blocks and would cost 4000 minecraft dollars to protect it with regions. However to prevent people clumping together and forming towns without due process, regions cannot be placed within 50 blocks of one another, with one exception being actual towns which is the next topic.
**During the week long period that admin shops will be available (sunday, april 22nd - sunday april 29th) regions will be purchasable.
TOWNS-
Towns will require a minimum of 5 players and a minimum area size of 100x100 blocks. In addition to paying for the block space members of the town will be required to pay 10,000 minecraft dollars. The town will receive a wall 2 blocks thick and 5 blocks high made completely of obsidian surrounding the town with guard towers to match as well as an additional 3 rows of region protected land outside of the town for the purpose of placing chest shops and as an extra barrier of protection. If a player leaves a town for any reason and the town no longer meets the required minimum of players, they will receive a grace period of 1 day to acquire a new town member or the region protection will be lost entirely.
** Players can be a member of only one town at a time
** Towns cannot be built closer than 250 blocks within each other.
RANKS-
First I want to thank FlammableFishie for coming up with awesome ranks and apologize at the same time for changing them again so soon after he came out with them. Within the 2 character classes are 3 ranks each. Obtainable through gains in wealth, land and notoriety. The default rank for Brigands is Petty Thief from which you can rank to a Raider and then to War Lord. While Citizens are defaulted as commoners and can rank to Merchants and then to Lords. The qualifers from one rank to the next will be listed below.
BRIGANDS -
Petty Thief to Raider -
- Have 10 successful raids under your belt
- Have a bounty of 50,000 minecraft dollars
Raider to WarLord -
- Have 50 successful** raids under your belt
- Have a bounty of 150,000 minecraft dollars
- and a wealth of over 250,000 minecraft dollars
** a successful raid means to have killed 75% of the towns inhabitants with only 25% of your own crew dead.
CITIZENS -
Commoner to Merchant -
- Have land holdings of 25,000 blocks at least
- Have at least 50,000 minecraft dollars
Merchant to Lord -
- Have land holdings of 150,000 blocks or more
- Have at least 250,000 minecraft dollars
- Be a member of a town
Brigand ranks will be colored red while Citizens will have Blue colored ranks.
The empty shop areas in the spawn mall will be available for rent.
A 5000 dollar down payment will be required and every month on the first of the month rent will be due. If payment is not provided you'll be immediately evicted.
BOUNTY
The bounty system is simple and only pertains to the Brigand class. Brigands will automatically have a 500 dollar bounty on their head and with each player they kill 500 dollars will be added to their bounty, meanwhile if the brigand is killed by a citizen or another brigand hired by a citizen his bounty will decrease** by 1000 dollars.
** this doesn't mean that the bounty collected will be 1000 dollars less, rather the bounty that was previously set before the kill is what will be received by the killer and the bounty AFTER the kill will be reset 1000 dollars less.
