Players are unable to light/create nether portals and weather is off.  Why would anyone think these settings are good?

Nether portals are of to reduce lag of random chunk loading by having portals on both sides, if you want to go to the nether there is a portal at /spawn you can use, you can also save up emeralds to buy a private portal!
