Have something to say?
is a place where many players of the Minecraft community play and enjoy the
survival environment. Not only that though- despite being a part of the server
for a very short while, it is a place where I can rightly say that they can
call their home; we all pretty much know each other, respect each other. We
also, as a group show our appreciation for all others around us, despite any
difference that may set us apart. We are, as one could say, a o familyo .
However, in times of great security and happiness on this wonderful server,
there are those who exist not only to grief, spam, etc.; there are those
players who wish to ruin the Minecraft experiences of others, which is in no
means acceptable on any scale.
Now, when someone thinks of a member of staff, what do they see? Any average
player would look up to a staff member and see someone who is built and
positioned to help and defend an individual or group of people (in this case,
players of the server we all know and love). They see someone who stops the
griefers and mutes the spammers. However, they may also look at a member of
staff and interpret them as one who bans and kicks in an obscene fashion, which
is the unacceptable behavior of a player of this rank. Though, a lot of these
times, this could just be the way a member of staff is looked at through the
eyes of others. What most people don't realize is that a staff member is a rank
in which the one in possession is in charge of the server when the higher administrators
and owners are absent, establish and keep order throughout the community, and
serve to put others' needs in front of their own, which takes experience and
commitment.
Leading into the main topic, I believe I am that player. Currently, I am an
administrator on two servers- one of which is called the MineActivity RPG
server. At the moment, I am helping create a city for it in which will
hopefully make a large impact on the flow of the whole role-play aspects of it.
However, before the whitelist, I served as both a member of staff and an
administrator on the survival server that used to be. During these fun times, I
not only tried to help out in fixing the server's issues, I solved the issues
of the players, and hopefully I have a few to back me up on this. Constantly
(to my degree of self-knowledge) I solved as little as minor inter-player
arguments and disagreements to helping out those who have been majorly griefed
in the world. I believe that on TechCraft, I will be able to apply my skills
that I have learned and developed in the past and work to keep the server under
control in which I know I could help out with many things.
Finally, leto s move into the topic of the more frequent offenses and the
punishments that will be applied to offenders. First of all, when a player
thinks about the rule-breakers of TechCraft, most would probably say not only
the ones who abuse the privileges of being able to interact with the world, but
those who abuse the chat. As an individual, I would like to always take my time
to yell out in chat attempting to halt the spammers and excessive capers (if
they by-pass the spam guard), but I would also like to tell them why ito s wrong
and what can happen to them if they continue to defy the rules. However,
currently, I don't have as much influence over others as I wish I could have.
As member of staff, I don't want others to be threatened by me, but I want them
to respect my power, and show appreciation for the careful time I take out of
my day on the server to talk to them about the issue.
With the powers that I would possess with the rank, there would be no abuse on
my end. In my case, the commands will always come after I talk the matters out
with the offender. This is true, except in the few (but possible) occurrences
in which the offender could have done something so violating, that it would be
necessary for a temporary banishment from the server without a chance for
explanation. From my views, I believe that the appropriate punishment for a
repeated spammer/caper would be a kick from TechCraft, just to show them that I
mean what I say. The next step would (if necessary) be a mute for as long as I
deem fit (at most, a few hours of a social ban - under my watch and control -
but only under the terms of an arrogant and constant offender). Finally would
come the ban- I dono t want to give them too many chances at redemption, because
others will see a weakness in me and know how to pass my reason. As always, I
would take these manners very seriously and in a mature way, and never do
something so unreasonable that I would appear unworthy for the position.
Ultimately, I would love to be a member of staff on TechCraft because of the
chance to help the server and the community with the problems and issues that
it contains currently. Even now, I try to take some of these into my own hand,
but unfortunately, it can be hard to convince others to do certain things as
only a mere default player. As a part of the staff, I wish to put others'
issues in front of my own, and devote my time to not only giving back to my
o familyo that I have been growing closer to ever since I was welcomed to the
place a few months ago; but I want to be the one that others look up to and
express myself and my talents to the whole TechCraft community.
