At a Glance: We are a small/mid sized survival factions server. The focus here is to have a good time without too many modifications to vanilla MC, but we use Factions to organize groups and towns. We center our economy around trade and bartering and bring a theme or specific element to each city or town we create.
How to play: After becoming a member by following the simple instructions at spawn, wander about the small city of Bloomington and create or join a faction (frats are what they are called in the city). The city's boundaries extend 1000 blocks beyond any built block within the city. Once you wander past that threshold, you can build whatever you like, and claim land for your faction. If the land is already claimed, you are allowed to claim it from others (if your faction is larger) and even steal from their chests, but you cannot grief it. Head back into town to set up a shop to sell your excess resources, or gain money by selling your gold, diamonds, and emeralds to the town bank. You can stash valuables such as diamonds in your bank account if you do not feel safe enough leaving them in your survival house. You can buy a plot of land to advertise your faction. You can even build an entire village, and purchase official ‘build permits’ from the Admins to get it WorldGuard protected. If you manage to build a town or village on your own, either without it being claimed by a faction or without our build permit, we will supply protection for you under the circumstances that you trade with the city via trade caravans. The world of minecraft is limitless, and so is our server.
Rules
1) Griefing is prohibited, but raiding/stealing from unprotected areas is allowed
2) Do not spam, advertise, or swear excessively. In other words, be respectful.
3) Mods or hacks which give you an unfair advantage over other players are strictly prohibited
4) Respect the rules of each individual town, they may vary.
Donations
We will keep the server up and running regardless of any donations we recieve, but all contributions will go directly towards improvements to the server. Please contact an admin if you are interested in donating.
Staff Applications
Staff members such as moderators, admins, or any other type of staff you have seen previously before are uniquely granted to players in our server. If you would like to become a staff member, you must first complete the bare minimum requirement of playing for at least 2 months on a consistent basis (2-3 times a week for an hour a session). Once that is completed, you complete a simple application in our city hall, and are eligable for election. The election process takes 2 weeks, and you can campaign, advertise, and even hold rallies to gain support for your bid as a staff member. Leaders of factions automatically get a seat in our congress, but staff members get an advantage over faction leaders in the amount of power they weild. In order to win an election, even if going uncontested, you must win at least 50% of the consistent player population (the population of all players over the course of your election period). Depending on which staff job you applied for, there will be many benefits to those who win. But be careful, you can lose your seat if someone attempts to challenge you. So respecting players and being popular amongst the server are two highly important and emphasized figures.
