We try to keep things fairly simple, mostly just try not to ruin the game for other people.

About:

MelonPlanet is a public Vanilla+ SMP server started in 2019 by a group of friends and experienced server admins looking to create a easy going, inclusive, mostly vanilla experience with a curated list of quality of life plugins. Our goal is to provide a more streamlined version of the vanilla minecraft experience with less of the tedious grind and more of the fun grind, without introducing totally new mechanics to the game.

The server runs 1.15.2 in normal survival mode, with a freshly generated world (bees!), with a 20k x 20k pregen and no hard world border. No resets are planned, if a new world gen update comes out we plan to address buy filling in a currently ungenerated area and setting warps. We plan on resetting the nether when the nether update hits, but will maintain a backup of the old nether and use worldedit to copy builds over upon request

We do not set arbitrary restrictions on play-style. Things like AFK farms, zero tick farms, and anything else you might be able to pull off in a vanilla single player world are perfectly allowed as long as you aren't lagging the server or ruining the game for others. If you do operate an AFK or zerotick farm, you are encouraged to open a shop with reasonable prices to give other players easier access to those resources.

We allow the use of client side quality of life mods, like litematica, but do not allow the use of hacked clients when grant an advantage.

Server details:

• Vanilla+ - Our server uses Paper/Spigot, and has a curated list of quality of life plugins to make playing on a server easier
• GriefProtection - we use protection to allow our players to protect their stuff, with generous land claim allocation
• Graves - we use the angel chest plugin to provide death chests to guard your stuff for a time after you die.
• Essentials - Homes/warps
• CoreProtect to keep your builds safe even if you mess up your land claims
• Other quality of life improvements - We use a few plugins such as Harbor, Sickle, and TreeGravity to make day-to-day minecraft tasks just a title easier
• Optional PvP - We use PvPToggle to allow players to turn PvP on or off
• Dynmap
• Reporting plugin for reporting bad behavior even when the staff aren't online
• Discord integrated with server
• Player shops with a diamond based economy
