What is NotHermitCraft?

a Vanilla Survival Multiplayer Server for Java Minecraft 1.20.4!

We are a family friendly, community-driven server established in 2019.
Inspired by HermitCraft to play Minecraft the way it's supposed to be played, together!

All kinds of players, of all ages, from all over the world! Coming together to create something beautiful.
Looking for more members for a long lasting experience with limitless potential and a great bunch of people.

Players can join with no mods installed but Simple Voice Chat (2.5.12) is highly encouraged!

HermitCraft inspired

  • new 1.21 blocks - copper/tuff variants and the crafter.
  • Diamond economy with a shopping district.
  • (proximity) voice chat - with deep dark/warden interaction!
  • custom items. (like hermit's hats. not them, but that kind of thing)
  • custom music discs and goat horns.
  • minigames. (ft. our own take on Decked Out)
  • coming soon - HermitCraft Trading Card Game!
  • events. (e.g. the * Life series, Bingo, UHC, Blood on the Clocktower or even non-Minecraft Game Nights!)
  • vanilla+ datapacks. (see below)
  • difficulty: hard.
  • small daily/big monthly in-game events for roleplay, laughs and just something to do!
  • whitelist - fair voting system from proven dedicated members for new applications.
  • a Discord bot that allows you to chat with players in-game.

    Season 4(ever)

    Previously we started a new season when the Hermits did but have now opted for Season 4(ever).

    This season intends to be around for a very long time. We'd like to create a full, rich and immersive world with purpose, lore and passion. Instead of starting again, again. Even though we've already begun, there is plenty for you to do. Not just in terms of mining and crafting, but also with minigames, events, roleplaying, and more!

    In the season that never ends, it's a great place to leave your mark! There's lots to take part in and there's also people eager to take part in your ideas.

        NOTE:

        Being active on Discord is highly encouraged. (for events, updates, sharing content, feeling like a community when we can't get in-game, etc.)

        Voice chat allows things such as custom goat horns and music discs, deep dark interaction and some events we host to work.

        • overworld - 20,000 blocks in every direction, but there's a soft border at 10k. if the server files get too big, we can delete everything beyond 10k to make room.
        • nether - 10,000 blocks in every direction, but there's a soft border at 5k. if the server files get too big, we can delete everything beyond 5k to make room.
        • the end - 33,000 blocks in every direction, but entire dimension will be reset periodically - we will announce before we do but make any projects known, so they can be preserved.

        RULES:


        1. NO ADULT/NSFW CONTENT
        • We intend to imitate HermitCraft’s wholesome vibe and keep the server family friendly.
        • Keep swearing to an absolute minimum(in-game and on Discord, voice chat included)! If you swear, you must throw a Diamond in the well. Do not use your wealth as an excuse to swear. Be creative.
        • Explicit content or discussions are strictly prohibited.

        2. NO GRIEFING
        • Do not destroy, deface, or steal from others' builds or storages.
        • Do not leave a mess in the terrain of active areas.
        • Do not intentionally cause server lag.

        3. NO CHEATING

        THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, HACKING, X-RAYING, GENERAL ITEM DUPLICATION (DUPING) AND EXPLOITING GAME MECHANICS:
        • "Freecam" mods are allowed but must not be abused to gain unfair advantages.
        • Duping of Falling Blocks is not allowed. (sand, gravel, anvils, etc)
        • TNT duping is allowed solely for use in farms that require it. (lit entities, not items)
        • Duping rails, carpets and string is allowed? (be considerate of item collection)
        • Play minigames as intended and do not tamper with them.

        4. BE CONSIDERATE
        • When using voice chats, be mindful of microphone feedback/echo.
        • ALL farms/contraptions must have an on/off switch. Even simple clocks.
        • You don't need to have every kind of farm in your render distance at all times.
        • If you don't need to have many mobs/animals/entities around you, remove them! We can share villagers!
        • Spawn-proof critical areas, especially the Nether roof, to prevent unnecessary mob spawning.
        • Pranks must be in good taste and cleaned up afterwards. Do not engage in actions purely to annoy or frustrate others.
        • Do not kill people for no reason.
        • Strive to improve the visual appeal of your builds and communal areas. Ugly farms should be decorated or hidden.

        5. TAKE IT EASY!

        WE ARE ALL HERE TO JOKE AROUND AND HAVE FUN, SO RESPECT PEOPLE'S WISHES IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE!
        • Conflicts or wars between players or factions should be understood as role-play and not personal disputes. All participants must agree to engage in these activities.
        • If a dispute arises, attempt to resolve it amicably among the involved parties. If necessary, ask a mod or admin.
        • Prank wars go by the rules of improv. You don’t undo what was just done, you have to build on it to see where it goes, and you can tap out whenever you want.
        • Please allow the server time to see how "wars" pan out in each phase as it happens and share it in the discord!

        6. DO NOT BREAK DISCORD’S TOS

        mods
        Our server runs Fabric mods to improve server side performance/networking, to help with moderation/protection(not listed) and of course voice chat.
        This has no effect on gameplay/mechanics and the game is identical to vanilla Minecraft otherwise. All farms and redstone contraptions will work as expected.
