Sword Art Online is an ever popular anime depicting a RPGMMO world with players being trapped into a world and the only escape is to reach the top floor (level 100). In this mod, we wish to accurately represent as much of the core features of SAO as well as branch off and follow our own ideas for improvement towards the game.
This mod aims to be different by bringing content to the people quickly with incremental releases to prevent a failed project that never sees the light of day. As well as trying to bring innovation to the core ideas of SAO, we plan to bring unique content never seen inside MC mods ever before. This mod isn't going to be a copy paste dimension mod with a bunch of armor and weapons.
With the mod being only a server based mod you will be logging onto our servers to enjoy the MMO experience while each floor being hand crafted to highlight details that terrain generation would've never given you. As well as in depth skill trees that work along side skill leveling that attempt to add purpose. Not only this, but custom weapon creation, armor creation, potion making to bring the core idea of sword v. sword that SAO really depicts. Finally, with guilds/friends/parties to aid your development inside the world to really enhance the gameplay experience.
All this is added in just the first release! Much more will be added continuously and the best part is that you will always stay up to date with an auto updating portion of the mod so you never have to download the mod after you install it ever again.
Unfortunately, yes. Are resources aren't infinite, we will be having a pre-generated world that won't be infinitely sized so space at the beginning might be tight. Also, due to us trying to preserve our works for everyone we have decided that placing / destroying blocks is banned (except for particular blocks and possible plots your own). Also, the mod won't be completed on launch along with launch being only for BEATERS.
All this may seem terrible, but we have decided to add content over time and try and preserve enjoyment for everyone for as long as possible. Though, as time progresses we will update faster and have more floors done for you to explore!
Finally, let us add that the whole goal of this mod is to be a one server based mod. We may expand our server count or the capabilities of each server allowing more players. But this mod IS NOT a client + server download type mod. You only get the client and will only be prompted to log in to our servers when you start MC with the mod installed. This may sound terrible as it removes singleplayer and small player count servers, but this is enacted as we believe that it allows for the MMORPG style that SAO follows with an iron fist to truly be experienced. We will try to expand the servers we have over time.
