Shadowhold

Shadowhold is a Survival server that keeps things simple and is one of the few servers to maintain the oldschool traditional gameplay experience. Open 24/7 and very stable, the worlds are backed-up twice every single day to prevent loss of anything. Shadowhold has been around since the late 2010 and despite ups and downs, has never ceased to maintain its quality and fairness. A experience and friendly staff is always there to help players and keep trouble makers away.



No factions, no economy system but the oldschool player-to-player trading, no need to buy a land if you want to build. There are no ads on the chat and no fee to get anything. It’s all free! Just log-and-play! (No mods are required to fully enjoy the server)



Griefing is not allowed and PvP is disabled for the main world so you don’t need to worry about being murdered by some idiot who prefers to steal rather than work to get their own stuff. However, for PvP lovers, we do have a world that is very rich in ores and has almost no rules. You can kill, grief and steal as much as you want without being punished! Not to mention that it is a gorgeous looking world. (see details below)



The player-base is friendly and very helpful if you need. Don’t be shy to ask something in the chat! The staff is experienced and friendly and will be there if necessary, as well. The rules are quite traditional, simple and easy to follow. Play nice and you will never have troubles, so please don’t cheat or hack! Cheating is for losers!



Although there is no teleportation command for players, you have Runecraft’s teleporter runes to do the job. They are as easy to set-up as punching wood and there is even a building next to the spawn on Deliverance (the main world) with short and easy-to-follow instructions on how to make yourself a teleporter. Just look for “The Instruction House”! The custom recipes and a few other runes are also on display for easy reference so you don’t need to quit your game or tab-out to check them on your web browser. If you find those hard to follow, just head over to our forums and look for the thread “Shadowhold Plugins!” for a full list of our plugins and full instructions on how they work and how to use them. There’s even video tutorials for you!

There is a variety of features you can make use of in our server, but they are completely optional. Here’s a few.

Plugins for Your Use

- CraftBook (ICs, bridges, gates, working sponges, custom recipes to craft blocks such as diamond ore, sponges and more! Make some neat contraptions with this.)

- Lockette (lock up your chests and doors to protect them from intruders and thieves. All you need is a sign!)

- Multiverse-Portals (Travel through worlds with Multiverse)

- Precious Stones (You don’t need admins to get your house protected. You can do that yourself!)

- Dynmap (Are you lost? Open up Shadowhold’s worlds map and find your way! http://mc.shadowhold.net:8123/ )

- Runecraft (Teleporter runes, recall runes, exploring runes and much more. All the magic you may need for your blocky journeys is in here!

- Server Nicks (You can ask a admin for a nickname! It will replace your actual player name in the chat. It is valid for Shadowhold, only, so no need to worry about having your name different anywhere else. It’s just a visual change.)

- DisguiseCraft (while in the world Prospero, you can disguise as any animal, mob or player you want. This is great if your aim is PvP. After all, your target won’t know at first if the creature approaching is an actual mob or animal or in fact a player who wants to kill and steal them! Our name tag will not appear above your head while you are disguised so be sneaky! You won’t be noticed so easily.)



Places to See/Visit and Things to Do

- Inn (need a place to sleep or heal? Visit the Inn. Free beds and a GodStone will heal and feed you while you are indoors.)



- Old SH Spawn (Nothing special about this one. Just the spawn we used when the server was new. It’s just a touristic attraction, now.)



- Courtyard Central Station (Shadowhold has an expanding rail way lines system. This is the main station. If you don’t have a minecart you can buy one in here for very cheap.)



- Altaria Sky Cruiser (screw steampunk and hot air balloons. They are overrated. Technology is the future! Here’s a futuristic sky cruiser propelled by powerful engines)



- Boat Race Track (It’s a race track where you “drive” boats to win the race and get awesome prizes. It’s not as easy or boring as it sounds, though. Extremely few managed to do a single lap, let alone finish all 3 laps)



- Horse Race Track (It’s a race track where instead of boats you use horses! Race to the finish and win the prize in this course with obstacles.)



- Instruction House (Just a building with some basic instructions about some basic things you can do with two of our most basic plugins.)



- Old Lighthouse and Ship by the bay (Imported from our old map. These are just a touristic attraction, now)



- Barns’ Hotel -Royal Hotel- (Another old build. Also a touristic attraction, now)



- Airships (A hot air zeppelin and a flying ship floating in the air. These two ships used to be armed with TNT cannons in the past and it’s said to have fought a war. Now they rest peacefully in Deliverance’s skies)



- TARDIS (“Time and Relative Dimension in Space”. Who knows who left that blue box over there. I wonder what happens if you step inside, though…)



- The Mystery Shack -under construction- (From the TV show Gravity Falls. No further details available as for now.)

- Combo Multi-Grinder (It’s a grinder. It’s a grinder that offers zombies, skeletons, spiders and even blazes! Want some easy XP or just loot items? This is the place for you.)



- Onions’ Library (Old build. Back for tourism. Find it along the South Line of the railway)

- Floating Sky City (Old build. Back for tourism. Find it through the portal in the Teleporters Chamber)

- Public Roller Coaster (North from Courtyard –the spawn-, you can easily get there though the North Line of the railway or through the public teleporter in the Teleporters Chamber. It’s free and fun!)



- Creative Mode (We now have a Creative world, did you know? Apply on the forums to gain Creative rights!)

- Zombie Run in Altaria (The Altaria Sky Cruiser flew to Prospero and during a storm crashed into one of the islands. Although the ship didn’t suffer any real damage, something happened to the crew and the lights, now the ship is crowned with zombies! Fight your way through the hordes and claim your prize! If you survive.)

- Secret treasure hunt (Long ago a treasure was hidden somewhere in Deliverance. It is said to contain the ultimate diamond gear with the all of the best enchantments, hidden away in a rotting shack deep within the jungle. Can you find it? Some say a half-sunken small ship contains a journal with the coordinates of the shack!)

- PvP arena (Do you like fighting other players and mobs? Then you’ll love this place.)
