I've worked on this, pixel by pixel on and off since mid summer. I used Pixen, a free online pixel art program that allows for layers, but aside from that, I used no special tricks, just color adjusted the crap out of it to make it nice and smooth. I was so inspired by the finale of Legend of Korra that in addition to drawing amon over and over, it eventually spilled onto minecraft. xD
Primary inspiration:
Had a lot of small details that were hard to get right, but at this point I'm happy with the result. The mask was ridiculous. Lemme know what you think, and if you use it PLEASE don't claim it as your own. I put far too much time into this for that to be ok. Thanks for your time, enjoy!
I also hear that DIAMONDS satisfy amon far more than equality among benders and non benders, so go ahead and give him some!

Not a huge change, but redid the mask. It's largely the same, but the colors create a more cohesive whole.
