Hey guys, Gaarafan14 here with another anime skin! I know it's been a while since I've made a skin but oh well. I've seen that there's a skin contest for feudal Japan so I've decided to make the shinigami captain of squad 6, Byakuya Kuchiki from Bleach. As most of you know, I absolutely love Bleach and it's my favourite anime. Since I have to tell a back story I'll start introducing him.

How is it related to Feudal Japan?

For hundreds of years, many people all over the world have believed in spirits that would bring the dead to the other side. They would take them to either heaven or hell. And well, the people of Feudal Japan have believed in the Shinigami. In the anime Bleach, Shinigami are spirits that bring the souls wandering in the world to the other side (in the anime known as the Soul Society or Seireitei). However, when a soul is not brought to the Seireitei in time, they will become hollow (虚 (ホロウ) horō). Hollows are corrupt spirits that devour the souls of the living and the dead. Shinigami use their katana/zanpakutō to purify these hollow so that they are able to become normal souls and go to the Seireitei.

Who is this character?

Byakuya Kuchiki is a captain level shinigami from the 13 court guard squads (Gōtei 13) and the name of his katana is Senbonzakura (千本桜). As the katana of each shinigami has its own ability, Senbonzakura the blade of Byakuya Kuchiki is able to scatter into billions, if not thousands of tiny cherry blossom leaves that cut the enemy into pieces. The name of the katana's released ability is called shikai (始解) and the final form of the katana is called bankai (卍解). While Byakuya's shikai is called "Senbonzakura", his bankai is called "Senbonzakura Kageyoshi". This would probably explain the minor details of the character himself but if you want to know more, I highly recommend you to watch the anime Bleach.
