Cobalt is a character I based off of the element on the Periodic table with the same name. Cobalt is part of a video game idea I had but did nothing with. There are a wide variety of other characters in the series as well based on their real Element counterparts.

Cobalt as a metal is one of the 3 elements on the periodic table that is Magnetic. A certain Isotope of Cobalt releases radiation and can be used to power nuclear reactors. Cobalt mixed with other chemicals can turn out a bright blue color, hence the name color name Cobalt Blue.
