”Mere possession [​of the Underbase] brings madness... or death.“ - Optimus Prime in issue #50, “Dark Star”


So, this is a skin of my persona based on the Underbase Saga, a four-part story arc in the original The Transformers Marvel comic that took place across issues 47, 48, 49, 50.

The saga tells the story of a database said to contain all the combined knowledge of the Transformer race. In the series, the Decepticons try to get their hands on it, and when Starscream absorbed its energies, he went on a rampage, killing off dozens of (robotic) characters from the comic. (It was the comic’s equivalent of Hasbro killing off most of the season 1 and 2 characters from the original Transformers cartoon in the 1986 movie because their toys weren’t on shelves anymore. The reason I called them “robotic characters” is because those are the Transformers that function without the aid of an organic partner, so basically, it’s any character that’s not a Headmaster, Targetmaster, Powermaster, or Pretender, which is equivalent to any characters who had toys released between 1984 - 1986.)

In the end, Starscream was defeated, but what if, in the present day of 2023, the remnants of the Underbase somehow landed on an alternate universe Planet Minecraft? And what if an alternate universe me got my hands on it?

(Also, if you’re wondering about the name, a YouTuber named Chris McFeely, who does videos describing the history of Transformers characters, has often had to mention Underbase Starscream when he talks about certain characters’ appearances in the Marvel comic, and he refers to those characters as “being offlined by a cosmically-empowered Starscream.”)
