Contest Disqualification
2. Skins must be new and made for this contest.
No copies, re-posts, or old skins will be accepted. This includes copies of default textures from the minecraft.jar, existing texture packs, or previously existing member submissions, from this site or others, including your own galleries. Give us something new and fresh, please!

4. Submit something you made.
Sampling skins is not 'making' a skin. It is copying and applying minor edits. SkinCraft is not 'making' a skin. It is copying from a library of 'parts'. Keep in mind, all the normal rules from the skin submission area still apply. Take your time, start from scratch, and make something completely unique!

Please go into further detail because I wouldn't call those minor edits I spent a lot of time on this skin. Also I did not just copy the Steve skin or repost another skin.

This does not change the fact that the skin 'base' you started with was Steve, which was clearly expressed as against the contest rules, which I posted above. You were expected to read them before you entered.

I did read the rules I just didn't realize that using steve as a 'base' wasn't allowed. Am I still allowed to redo this skin (from scratch) without using steve as a base because I would really like to enter the contest.

Go ahead and make something new. Right now there is a bug I think that prevents people from submitting a skin after being DQ'd, but it will be taken care of before the contest ends.

Spend some serious time on making your submission nice - there are already some very heavy-hitters in this contest.
