Lovecraftian horror has a major emphasis on the unknown and unknowable. Gore and other gruesome and shock elements are there to add to the unknown factor. They are not the most emphasized aspect of Lovecraftian Horror.




All comes to an end. When Emrakul descends upon the world, it infects the minds of many. It makes some go insane, while others kill because of what they saw. Emrakul makes those who have been infected, see some people as monsters, while it's invisible to those who's minds are uninfected. Those who's minds are infected remember a specific book they read that accurately recalls everything about their lives. It even predicts the end of times. The infected mind believes the prophecies are true, since the book accurately depicted their entire life. The book, The Mouth of Madness, does not exist in reality, but only to those who've gone mad from Emrakul.

The infection of the mind spreads rapidly. One person can shout in public area what appears to be gibberish, but that can infect 2 people. Those 2 can infect 4, and those 4 can infect 8, and so on and so forth. in a matter of weeks, the whole world could be infected. Once this happens, everyone would start killing one another, for the book said, "in the end, all your piers will turn against you, trying to destroy the sanctity of your life. If you don't fight back, they will consume you, leaving nothing behind." This continues until only one person is left. That person gets to witness the collapse of the cosmos in front of his eyes.
