Eren Yeager (エレン・イェーガー Eren Yēgā?, often romanised as Eren Jäger/Eren Jaeger) is the main protagonist of Attack on Titan. He is the son of Grisha and the late Kalura Yeager. He was born in the Shiganshina District, a town located on the southern part the outermost Wall, which was destroyed by the Titans during the fall of Wall Maria. His best friends are his childhood companion, Armin Arlert, and his adoptive sister, Mikasa Ackerman.
He holds a personal vendetta against all Titans for destroying his home and devouring his mother, and his goal is to slay every last one of them from the Earth and explore the world beyond the Walls. He graduated as one of the top five soldiers of the 104th Trainees Squad and currently serves as a member of the Survey Corps. He is later discovered to be a Titan Shifter, and uses his abilities to aid in humanity's fight against the rule of the Titans. He is also said to possess something known as "The Coordinate" to the Titan Shifters that infiltrated the Walls.
