Entry for the Winter Fashion Jam! I haven't participated in one of the quest jams in a while..
Glad I'm a little more free and can participate again! I almost forgot how to shade hair in my usual style. cX
Her hair is actually orange, but it turned out blonde-ish with the hue-shifting; Apart from the jam, my inspiration is also Jovie from Elf - her role and costume are pretty cute, thinking of elves reminded me of her. <3

Choosing colours, well there's no straight-forward path! At least not for me, I do try to stick to the more saturated side of things, for both "shadowing" and main colours.
I do have one tiny piece of advice, which is don't rush your work. Build upon your skin slowly, fix one part of it then go do something else, and come back later. You'll find that there are bits that you never thought could be changed, but now they can.
It always helps to have a "fresh" pair of eyes to look at things, especially when it comes to colour. I mean that's the type of stuff I apply to myself. :P
