He is a proud father, and a wise one too, but that cannot be said about his daughter, who is smart, but does not make good decisions.  One day, two men both came to the kings door asking for his daughters hand in marriage.  These two men were alchoholics, with lazy habits.  The king, wanting to look like a good king, planned a horse race, one which he new would never take place.His idea was to have the horse who comes in second would get to marry his daughter, but then they would be smart enough to never cross the finish line.  However, his daughter, who fancies both of them, told them a way that would make it fair.  She told them to trade horses, so the person on the winning horse would have her.  So the race took place, and as you may have guessed, there was a winner.  The king, knowing  what is best for her, became miserable, and hung himself.
