You could need some work on the shading, so I suggest you take a quick look at this tutorial that I made. :)

Thanks man the tutorial is great. But what is the best program to make skins? I'm now using Minecraftskin3D.

I tend to use paint.NET for the actual making of the skin, then SkinEdit for viewing it.

I suppose that website probably has a ton of premade stuff, and barely any tools to work with. I prefer to make my skins the "pure" way.
