"Harad was...difficult. He was like his brother: stubborn, haughty, and greedy. I can't imagine why his father thought it would be a good idea for him and Forn to be joint rulers. They only brought division to the unity we had here on Zoris."
—Daugwen Alndi, Goddesses' Agog member
Harad Anarth was one to the two sons of King Dullem Anarth, the aged ruler of Shandoah when it was in unity with itself. King Dullem wished for his sons to be joint rulers; both Harad and his brother Forn were greedy for power and even plotted to kill each other, however. This sparked what is known today in Zoris as the Pureblood War; a bloody, horrific war between the southern half of Shandoah and their northern brethren.
Other Nations of Zoris chose to leave this matter to the Shandoans, even after many pleas for help. The other Nations were still recovering after many years of war with themselves, and simply put, didn't have much to offer either side in their war efforts. Eventually, as the War began to spread to Selva-Terra, home of the Tigris, the leaders of each Nation counselled on what should be done to bring peace to Zoris once again. They wrote up a treaty, known as the Treaty of Purebloods today. Harad and Forn were both slain in the final battle of the Pureblood War, however, bringing a swift end to the War that had ravaged the lands of Shandoah. The leaders of the other Nations proposed a separation of the now split Nation of Shandoah, to which the Shandoans agreed to without question. A border between the Northern and Southern Shandoah was soon established afterwards.
