The Prussian Army's officers were trained at on of the Prussian Military Academies, prestigious institutions founded by Prussian Generals and Kings for giving their officers the best in military education. However, these schools were very expensive, which meant only wealthy upper-class men could go to these schools, and eventually men became officers more based on their class and connections rather then their skill.
