The Industrial APA v1.4 (All Purpose Android) was the first commercially successful Android, a large leap in the cybernetics revolution.
These robots were cheaper to manufacture, compared to specialized government robots, and preformed efficiently for the time. As a result of their accessibility to the general public and novelty, the APA v1.4 quickly spread throughout households, business offices, and around the city as labor units. Because of their artificial intelligence, the APA v1.4 became a number one product throughout the world, usually replacing human workers in exchange for the APA's inability to become overcome by fatigue and their compliance to their owners.
This slow decline of available jobs eventually destroyed the working class, reducing them to poverty. After further advancements in cybernetics allowed for more improved and upgraded models to hit the market, the Industrial APA v1.4 was rendered obsolete. Metal frames of the first commercial APAs wandering around slums and the city became a common sight as a result.
Many citizens and officials demanded for the recycling of the Industrial All Purpose Androids to prevent overpopulation and potentially dangerous incidents in the future, but AAHC (Association for Android Human Co-existence) and other cybernetics rights movements were against the idea. To this day the moral debate concerning the fate of these revolutionary androids hasn't been decided, and ,until a resolution is reached, the APAs will have to wander the abandoned towns and city slums in search for purpose.
