V-5

Description

V-5 is the first entity of Section V and the first tracking-type (e.g A-200, A-332, DG-1 & E-144) entity of said section. Like other trackers, it will only follow players under conditions such as if the player is yet to find a hiding spot or has left their hiding spot. Similarly to A-332, it will continue moving in the same direction the player was before they hid which may cause it to continuously hop back a few rooms or hop against the wall like Noah. It makes its debut as the first entity of the section and will appear about 22 rooms before the next entity, V-27. It was added fairly recently within the second part of the Entity Extravaganza update which added the entity along with its section and other entities. As it name implies, it will spawn when room V-005 is opened where the entity will be seen at the center of the room, shaking slightly while making a brief paroxysm of noise of 8-bit like noises, followed by a sound which sounds similar to a slight whirring noise — or a 'charging-up' noise given its arcade/future-like nature. It also has a unique sound effect for whenever it is hopping which indirectly serves as an indicator for whenever it is that process of moving. Over all, its behavior is similar to the aforementioned entities as well as some wandering-type entities (Noah, M-120, and E-1), almost acting as an equivalent.

Though V-5's mechanic is worthy of being deemed as 'non-hazardous', it poses as more of an hindrance. As mentioned before, it will begin at the very center of the room for a few brief seconds before hopping towards the player in an effort to damage them, dealing approximately an eighth to a sixth of the player's health per hit and will continue to do so until the player has either hidden within a locker, a table or has sprinted from the entity to create distance between one and another and therefore cannot catch up on time. As said before, it can hinder the player's progress since it almost forces them to hide in order to protect themselves from dealing damage. It can prove to be an annoyance as well given the previous item and the fact that it is the most frequently-appearing entity of the section, and is worsened by its even longer lifespan (about 25-40 second).

V-5 is one of the more easy entities to evade as it can simply be walked around, as well as other tips that'll be discussed further below. Though it can be quite an annoyance, it isn't much of a dangerous entity like its successors who prove themselves to be much more hazardous. Similarly to Noah and E-1, there is a slight chance two of them may spawn in the same room which may be dangerous to a degree depending on the circumstances the player finds themselves in. In Section V, V-5 will be the first entity players will encounter and will make somewhat frequent appearances throughout the player's journey through the section, it will appear just a few rooms before the next and considerably dangerous entity, V-27

Appearance

V-5 appears to be a triclops (three-eyed and like A-300 & CHA-1) with a very apparent frown which looks somewhat similar to a controller. It is fitted with a light-purple outline and its circular eyes have black sclera, a very thin purple iris and very dilated pupils. This look is similar to another entity within Section A, that being A-300 since both entities have three eyes and are frowning in a way.

V-5 emits a bluish-purple glow, that changes to red, orange, blue and purple at specific intervals.

Strategy & Tips

  • V-5 shouldn't pose much as a threat, as it only takes an eighth to a sixth of the player's health each time it attacks and these attacks are pretty easy to dodge. As said previously, the player can simply walk around V-5 without an issue, it most likely won't be able to catch up to you. It won't be much of a problem if the player loses a couple of health, as it is a minuscule amount and easily can be regenerated. This may be slightly more difficult for players who aren't able to sprint.
  • Hiding in either of the three lockers or two tables can prevent V-5 from attacking the player, but again, it isn't necessary for this entity.
  • Due to its medium chance of clipping through walls, players can enter the next room and when they hear V-5's sounds, they can immediately jump on top of the first locker on the left, look down and enter the locker. Because of this, V-5's path will register that the player is still on the locker, causing it to hop on top of the locker, there being a possible chance it may clip through the wall and fall out of bounds into the void. Player(s) can do this to get rid of the entity quicker, although there is a chance it may not clip at all.

    Notes

    • When you hear a loud 8-bit noise, it means V-5 has despawned.
    • Hiding is a viable option to counter V-5's attacks, although it isn't recommended due to its long lifespan and because the player can simply run past the entity until it eventually despawns.
    • V-5 can occasionally no-clip through walls while hopping, although it is uncertain when this can occur.
      • This can also cause it to involuntarily clip through the wall, resulting in the entity falling into the void.
      • V-5 is the first entity you encounter in Section V, as previously said.

    Trivia

    • V-5 along with E-22, were part of "leaked entities" shown in Zvardin's community posts on YouTube. Everyone in the community assumed V-5 was E-300 or X-300.[1]
    • There is a small chance where two V-5s can spawn in the same room. It isn't clear whether or not there's a possibility three of them can spawn in the same room, like E-1.
    • V-5 is one of the few entities that have the ability for changing colors.
    • V-5 is currently the only entity that is able to move in another way that isn't running, being able to jump.
    • Like Noah and M-120 in the April Fools 2023 Event there is a chance for dozens of V-5s to spawn in a room.
    • When V-5 spawns, player(s) can jump on top of it and continue to jump on it which can cause it to be flung across the floor, though it will attempt to adjust itself again by hopping.
    • FANS has gave some entities nicknames like how A-60 and A-200 have nicknames. V-5 is one of those entities, with the FANMADE given nickname being "The Bouncy Woring"
