Here is my entry for the Periodic Table contest. It is based on iodine (atomic number 53). The design is based on the appearance of iodine crystals as well as the distinctive magenta vapor the element produces when it sublimes. The seven white dots represent the seven valence electrons of the halogens (of which iodine is a member).
