A millionaire philanthropist and playboy, Tony Stark had a shrapnel in his heart during a terrorist attack while trying to demonstrate his military technology in Afghanistan. He was forced to make a power weapon to undergo a false operation that would get the shrapnel out of his heart. He agreed to gain access to the tools. With the help of Yinsen he built a heart and a suit to break out. Unfortunately, Yinsen sacrificed his life in the process and which Tony would avenge his death. He took a enemy helicopter and flew back to the United States. There he created more suits and fought crime with the name Iron-Man!
