Twenty year old blonde-haired Keira Evins peered through the darkness pierced by the bright burning fire on the San Dominico, shouts and the sounds of cannons firing filled the air. She took a deep breath, inhaling the sharp odor of cannon powder and smoke, and unsheathed her sword to board the San Dominico along with the others aboard the Alexandria. Captain McTavish was shouting "Cease fire! Board her! Her last hours are nigh! Let us hasten their arrival!" The San Dominico was a Spanish merchant ship spotted by the Alexandria's lookout in the crow's nest some hours before. The Alexandria being larger, Captain McTavish had ordered they attack. Now, the San Dominico's end was near and the pirates of the Alexandria were boarding it. Keira followed twenty-two year old brown-haired Isaac Turner, the Alexandria's first mate leading one group in the boarding of the San Dominico. Leaving a few crewmen to man the ship, Captain McTavish's group boarded it at the bow, while Isaac's group, boarded it at the stern. The Spanish were caught in the middle, and the ship was soon taken by Captain McTavish.
The crew put out the fires aboard the San Dominico and went through the riches aboard, dividing them between Captain McTavish's group and Isaac's. Keira watched them divide the loot and heard Captain McTavish speak to Isaac. Isaac turned from those dividing the loot as Captain McTavish spoke to him "I must return to the Alexandria. You will be the captain of this ship and those in your group may be your crew. I will be going to Tortuga to get more men, perhaps we will meet there, twelve crewmen is not enough for either of us." Isaac agreed.
Captain McTavish and his group returned to the Alexandria. The sun was low on the horizon as Isaac watched the Alexandria sail away, then turned to his new crew. "Keira Evins, you will be the first mate." Keira stepped up, "Aye, Captain Turner." David Mayfield, you are the lookout. Andrew Daustin, ..." He told each one his position and they went immediately to their places. Isaac renamed the ship, Montrose. His crew repaired the fire damages and he set out for Tortuga. ×
