The KNIL (Royal Dutch East Indies Army) was part of the Dutch army when Indonesia was still a Dutch colony, called the Dutch Indies. During the Second World War, the Dutch Indies were attacked by the Japanese. The KNIL is known for their humanitarian aid but also for their war crime.
